Invergordon Bowling Club

Invergordon Bowling Club was constituted in 1899 as part of the celebrations in the town marking the Jubilee of Queen Victoria and is the oldest bowling club in Ross-shire.

The club has been in the forefront of bowling in the area, being one of the founder members of the Northrn Bowling League when it was founded, as well as being a founder member of the Northern Women's Bowling League when it was founded. Over the years a number of our members have been winners of numerous competitions in the North, and at present, two of our ladies have held the Scottish Women's Bowling Association Four Bowl Pairs title on two separate occasions and as such went to the British Championships representing Scotland in this particular discipline of the sport.

If anyone should be interested in finding out whether or not the game of bowls is for them, the club night is held on Tuesdays at 6.45 pm and a welcome is assured. For the first time we are going to hold a family evening on Fridays to allow families to come as a group and 'have a go' at bowling. The club has a coach who would explain the basics of the game to newcomers, bowls would be provided and the only requirement is that shoes worn on the green should be heel-less and have smooth soles. If you should like any further information please do not hesitate to contact our Club Secretary, Mrs Moira MacLeod,
Telephone: 01349 853051.

Over the years the gardens surrounding the green have been well looked after and even if you do not wish to participate in playing the game you are welcome to come along and watch in pleasant surroundings.
