I am writing a novel about Polish people in the highlands, first post war wave, and the current influx. can you please explain to me how these solidiers arrived at this camp? were they POW's, having been coerced into joining the nazi's? or had they escaped across europe to the UK, in order to form an army? i have heard so many conflicting stories...

Is it possible that some of these huts later found there way to the Black Ditch settlement? I remember the water tank on the right, it was still there when the games were held at the House of Rosskeen.

Thanks, Harry. I had a vague recollection that it was on the left hand side of the cool walk, but it appears in the photo as if it's on the right hand side. I also think there was one half way up the Castle Road. Have you any idea of that?

Noreen, sorry do not recall any other location. Maybe you could go onto the Invergordon Image Library site (other site) and search for Polish Camp, there are more photos on there, regards
